Mr Boran has over 20 years of investment experience, focusing on equity capital markets. He joined Amwal in 2009 and leads equity investment research and portfolio management for Qatar, MENA and Turkey.

Before joining Amwal, Mr. Boran worked for Shuaa Capital where he managed the Turkey Advantage Fund, which was the top Turkish fund beating the market index by around 20% and the Emerging Market Hedge Fund index by around 25% (cumulatively) coupled with an annualized volatility of around 16% compared with an annualized volatility of the Turkish market index of 69% for the same period.

Previously, he was a top rated Turkish equity analyst for over 12 years at Natwest Markets and Credit Suisse and rated several times as the best analyst for Turkey and Southern Europe by Institutional Investor, Reuters and Extel. He spent his early years with firms in the US and Turkey as an equity research analyst.

Mr. Boran holds a Master’s in Finance degree from London Business School and is a CFA charterholder. He speaks fluent Turkish.
